HOW CAN I TELL ANTS FROM TERMITES?
Because measures for controlling these two pests vary, the answer to this question is very important to know.
DO YOU HAVE A TERMITE PROBLEM?
Nationwide, subterranean termite damage approaches a billion dollars a year. Protect your home by watching for these signs of termites:
- A temporary swarm of winged insects around your home
- Discarded wings near doors and windows
- Mud tubes in the basement or crawl space
- Hollow-sounding wall studs
IS IT A TERMITE OR AN ANT?
Winged termites are usually only around 1/8-inch long, have straight antennae and no “waistline.” Their wings are long and of equal length. Termites break off their wings; ants do not.
Ants are often several times larger. They have elbowed antennae and three distinct body segments with very slim waists. Their front wings are much longer than the back ones.
To be sure termites are the problem, call us for a home inspection. And ask about the Sentricon® Termite Colony Elimination System, a revolutionary program that actually eliminates the termite colony.
