As your pest management professionals, we're happy to share with you the following guidelines about choosing the best pest control company or professional exterminators for your home, rental property or business.

  • Make sure that the company and individual with whom you are dealing are licensed by the Department of Agriculture within the state they do business
  • Call the Better Business Bureau and the State Department of Agriculture to check if there are any unsolved or unresolved complaints against the company
  • The firm with which you do business should be a member of its state's pest control association and the National Pest Control Association – these organizations offer ongoing training and safety programs for the industry
  • Get two or three estimates, remembering that all programs, procedures, guarantees, warranties and terms of contract are not the same
  • Before you sign a contract for pest control services, be sure you fully understand the nature of the pest to be controlled, the extent of the infestation, and the work necessary to solve the problem
  • Remember that pest damage is usually slow in progress, so take your time and research your decision thoroughly
  • Be wary of the person who comes to your home uninvited and offers to inspect your house for pests
